The Joint Committee which governs Emergency Management Otago has considered the submissions we received on the draft plan and agreed on several amendments. The plan will now be considered by the Minister of Civil Defence then come back to the Joint Committee for final approval before coming into effect.
The Draft Group Plan sets out in detail our intended approach over the next 10 years to reduce the community's exposure to hazards, increase preparedness for adverse events, provide an effective response to emergencies, and support communities to recover afterwards.
